I've been working as a Postmates delivery driver w

I've been working as a Postmates delivery driver while my normal job is shut down for COVID-19, and I started getting orders that included drinks, ice-cream in cups, and milkshakes. I only have so many cup holders in my car AND the cup carriers most places give you try to fall apart between the counter and your car. If they DO make it to your car, they will try to fall over while you drive! Postmates will sell you a 6 cup carrier for $15, but it wont insulate the drinks, so ice cream and milkshakes will be toasted messes (California heat). For just an hour of my time, I cut up a shoe box and made my own! The 3 long strips are 4 inches tall and measured to the length of a standard Postmates insulated bag. The 8 shorter strips (4 top and 4 bottom) are 2 inches tall and also measured to fit. The whole thing is held together using 1 inch slits that interlock, making a very sturdy frame that can easily be put in and out of the bag as needed. I also use a flat piece of cardboard as a base, not attached. It will also fit my generic insulated bag. I used this setup for the first time last night and it's already saved me when I had 2 orders from one place, each with drinks, and the 2nd with a shake. Using this setup, the shake was still ice cold after being in my car for 20 minutes! So, if you deliver for Postmates (or another gig delivery service), dont feel you need to buy their expensive carrier when you can build your own with cardboard you may already have!

I was all set to run my first ever 50k at the Valencia Trail Race, and then, like all things 2020, it got postponed. I was all trained up with nowhere to run! So when the F.I.T. Virtual Challenge offered me a Shirt and a Medal as a reward for doing whatever I wanted, I decided I was going to run that 50k anyway! It didn't all go smoothly, but I'm so glad I did it! Had the opportunity this October to run the Sparta

Had the opportunity this October to run the Spartan Beast in Lebec, CA for the 2nd year in a row. Had a great time running with my son's and meeting readers and new friends! All while getting my very first DNF! That's right! I've completed Big Bear 3 years in a row, Tahoe, Spartanburg, and Lebec in 2018, but this year I did something that caused me to not finish a Beast course. Want to know what it was? This year I took my first trip to Tahoe, CA to run

This year I took my first trip to Tahoe, CA to run the Spartan World Championship Beast course! Since I'm NO WHERE NEAR qualifying for the gated competitive heats, I ran on Saturday in the Open Heats with my 17-Year-Old-Son and my Brother-In-Law. It was a real Jekkle & Hyde weather day. . .started sunny and nice then devolved into cold, snowy, and thunder storms! Very epic experience! Read my full write up at AverageOCRunner.com.

Just finished the Spacerock Trail Race! At 13.88

Just finished the Spacerock Trail Race! At 13.88 miles (according to my Garmin) it was a great course! Tons of great scenery and climbs that were more challenging than I had expected. Very fun event and I highly recommend it!
